PT Pelayaran Taruna Kusan Jaya (Taruna) was established to capitalize on heavy freight sea transportation demand in Indonesia. As the largest archipelago country in the world, Indonesia consists of more than 13,000 islands spread over in area of almost 10 million square kilometers. These islands and the water surrounding them contain valuable minerals and natural resources that have been explored and mined to become the backbone of Indonesia's economy.
Utilizing vessels known as landing crafts (LCT), Taruna has been able to provide services to various companies - mostly in mining, oil & gas industry - that operate in various locations in Indonesia. The LCT has been proven to be capable to effectively deliver heavy cargo - such as excavators, cranes and dump trucks - to various sites that often times are located in remote islands and lack infrastructures. Also, due to the design of the vessel, the LCT is capable to safely load oversized cargo for project material and equipment, such as oil pipes, steel frames and various machineries.
Incorporated in 1999, Taruna has established itself as a reliable business partner in heavy freight shipping industry in Indonesia. The company is committed to operating and offering services to the clients with health, safety and environment as the primary consideration.
